that name us: RAKA Award contemporary Indigenous visual arts #3
is a travelling exhibition of works by thirteen outstanding
contemporary Australian Aboriginal artists, all of whom were short-listed
for the prestigious Kate Challis RAKA Award.
Both new and established artists from across
have made works that address a range of issues at the heart of contemporary
Indigenous culture and experience. The exhibition includes bark
and canvas paintings, photography, prints, drawing and sculpture
in a carefully selected cross section of contemporary Aboriginal
art.

provides an excellent forum for the discussion of art, Australian
Indigenous studies and Australian history.A full public program
of activities, educational support materials and artist’s visits
will accompany the show, including a specially developed teaching
development initiative.
This touring exhibition is a collaborative
project between The Ian Potter Museum of Art at theUniversity of
Melbourne and National Exhibition Touring Support (NETS) Victoria.
